No Messing With This

Everyone knows travellers make a perfect target for thieves. So take two sets of clothes. One set is the glad rags, those lovely or impressive clothes you need to get upgrades on flights etc. The other set is for visiting the well-known tourist spots. Make these the ugliest, moth-bitten clothes you can find. Sure, beggars will approach you when wearing them, but only to give YOU money.
