Safety in hotel room

Before retiring in your room, string a nylon line taught inside your hotelroom door, attached to any device you like to create a noise or other effect when the door is being opened - it really worked for me in Thailand or whenever security is not 100% certain. (You may wish to experiment with explosive devices if you leave your room for longer periods....)
