Scan important documents to email

Before you go on holiday, scan copies of important documents to email, and copy in a trusted family member. Then if you lose your luggage, your phone, get robbed, or anything, all you need to do is access your email, or phone home to get them emailed/faxed to where they are needed.
You can keep a seperate folder in your email account that has backups of passports, visas, phone numbers, insurance numbers, anything you might need. This helps you sleep easier because the backup plan is always in place.
